I am moving address. How do I transfer my broadband service to my new premises?
I am taking my existing telephone number to a new address. Will my broadband service transfer automatically?
Can I continue to use my Demon email address at my new premises?
If I continue with Demon broadband at my new address, will I continue with the same contract as my existing service?
As your broadband service is installed on the telephone line at your premises, it is not possible to “transfer” the connection to your new address. We do however have a dedicated Customer Loyalty team who are able to assist you with installing a new connection at your new address and cancelling the existing service if you wish to continue with your Demon service. Please note that standard lead time, of 5 – 7 Business Days, will apply to the installation of your new service and the cancellation of your existing connection is subject to a 30 day cancellation period.
As your broadband service is installed on the telephone line at your premises, it will not automatically be installed when you move premises. If you wish to continue with Demon broadband at your new address our dedicated Customer Loyalty team will place an order for a service at your new premises and arrange the cancellation of your existing connection. Please note that there is a 30 day cancellation period for all Demon Broadband services and your existing connection will need to be closed before the new order can be placed on the telephone number at your new premises.
Yes you can. If you are using your Demon hostname (firstname.lastname@example.org) for mail, we will create a new service specifically for email when your existing service is closed. This will run alongside your new Demon broadband and will allow you to continue collecting email as normal when you begin to use your new connection. There will be a period of approximately 24 hours when you will be unable to receive new email while the hostname is re-built on our platforms.
If you are using a domain name, (for example email@example.com /.com), that is registered with Demon, the mail records will need to be updated once your new service has been installed. To arrange this please contact our Technical Support team on 0345 272 2666.
As you will be cancelling your existing service and placing a brand new order at your new premises, this connection will be subject to new Terms & Conditions including a minimum period of service. We will, however, waive the remaining months in your existing contract when you place a new order, providing the following minimum periods have been served:
- If you have a 24 month contract: 6 Months
- If you have a 12 month contract: 3 Months
